AIAI Holdings and Constellation Network have launched Arca Wallet, a self-custodial mobile wallet that combines dollar-backed stablecoin transfers with a reusable identity verification step. The app is available for iOS and Android users.
Arca supports USDC and USDT, allowing users to hold and send digital dollars while keeping control of their own keys. The companies are positioning the wallet for lower-cost cross-border transfers, with transactions settling in seconds at a flat 0.5 percent fee.
The identity layer is the more distinctive feature for Mobile ID World readers. Users complete verification once inside the wallet and can then access an in-app marketplace of approved partner applications without repeating onboarding each time. AIAI and Constellation say that reusable identity model could extend beyond payments into travel verification, healthcare registration, insurance enrollment, employee onboarding, government benefits, and loan applications.
That places Arca in a broader shift toward mobile wallets that carry both payment capability and verified identity attributes. Google has opened Google Wallet digital IDs to third-party apps, while Samsung and CLEAR recently brought passport-backed digital ID into Samsung Wallet for TSA checkpoints. In the crypto sector, identity-linked wallet infrastructure has also been emerging around compliant remittances and digital assets.
Because Arca is self-custodial, the companies say neither Arca nor another institution holds user funds or can restrict access to them. That framing pairs a crypto-native custody model with a verified identity layer intended to make partner apps more comfortable serving users who have already completed onboarding.
The launch also reflects the increasing overlap between mobile identity, digital wallets, and stablecoin payments. Instead of treating identity verification as a one-time gate for a single service, Arca treats it as a credential that can travel with the user across a wallet-based app ecosystem.
