Hopae Taps Former Mastercard Digital Identity Leader Sarah Clark as CPO, North America GM

Hopae has appointed Sarah Clark as chief product officer and general manager for North America, a move the company says will accelerate product execution and expand its regional footprint.

Clark most recently served as Senior Vice President of Digital Identity at Mastercard, where she led development and launch of a globally interoperable digital identity network. Hopae said she brings more than 25 years of product leadership, including more than a decade building and launching digital identity products and related businesses.

The hire arrives as enterprises seek interoperability layers for digital ID programs and wallet-based credentials. As governments roll out national digital ID initiatives and private platforms build onboarding and verification flows around them, providers are pitching infrastructure that reduces the need for one-off integrations across credential schemes.

Hopae positions itself as an identity infrastructure provider with two main product lines. Hopae Connect is framed as an enterprise verification hub and single API that can validate more than 60 electronic IDs and wallets. The company links Connect to its "intermediary" role under eIDAS 2.0 for relying parties that will interact with European Digital Identity Wallets.

The second line, Hopae Wallet, is a wallet SDK aligned with W3C standards and the ISO/IEC 18013-5 mobile driver’s license ecosystem, with support for iOS and Android. It is positioned for organizations that want to build or embed credential storage and presentation into their applications.

A late-2025 update described the company’s European expansion strategy, including investment aimed at scaling its intermediary platform as EUDI Wallet adoption grows.
