Unissey said it obtained High‑Level certification for Injection Attack Detection (IAD) under the CEN/TS 18099 standard for a web‑based liveness workflow. The assessment was conducted by CLR Labs, an accredited French testing body.
IAD focuses on detecting attempts to bypass the camera by feeding prerecorded or synthetic content directly into the verification pipeline. Interest in this control has grown alongside wider use of deepfake tools.
The certification applies to browser‑based flows, which the company says allows coverage across devices and operating systems without a native app.
The timing aligns with anticipated eIDAS 2.0 requirements in Europe, where Qualified Trust Service Providers are expected to meet High‑Level criteria for both Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) and IAD by 2027.
CEO Yassine Mountacif said the certification reflects the robustness of the company’s liveness detection. The announcement follows a broader trend of vendors pursuing higher‑level certifications.
