FIDO Alliance Sets Authenticate APAC 2026 in Singapore to Advance Passkeys and Digital Identity

The FIDO Alliance is bringing its Authenticate conference series to the Asia-Pacific region for the first time with Authenticate APAC 2026, a two-day event in Singapore focused on phishing-resistant authentication and digital identity. The conference is scheduled for June 2 to 3, 2026 at the Grand Hyatt Singapore, followed by a FIDO Member Plenary from June 4 to 5 at the same venue.

FIDO describes Authenticate APAC as a regional extension of its global Authenticate event, which it positions as the only conference dedicated specifically to digital identity and phishing-resistant authentication. The Singapore gathering builds on earlier FIDO APAC Summits and is aimed at governments and enterprises across the region that are deploying passkeys and exploring verifiable digital credentials as part of their identity strategies.

The program is designed for CISOs, security architects, product leaders, and identity teams responsible for sign-in and access management roadmaps. According to FIDO, sessions will highlight hands-on lessons from production passkey deployments, cross-platform interoperability, and integration of FIDO authentication into broader identity and access management (IAM) ecosystems. Planned topics include enterprise passkey rollouts, government digital ID initiatives, and use cases that combine passkeys with verifiable credentials to meet high-assurance requirements without reverting to passwords or SMS one-time codes.

Vendors will be able to participate through sponsorship and expo opportunities tied to the conference. FIDO plans an exhibition area where authentication and identity-security providers can meet organizations that are actively planning passwordless and passkey projects. A sponsorship prospectus has been published alongside the announcement, and registration is set to open closer to the event, with updates distributed via the Authenticate website and newsletter.

For Mobile ID World readers, Authenticate APAC 2026 is another marker of momentum behind passkeys and FIDO-based sign-ins, particularly in markets where mobile devices and digital wallets are central to digital identity strategies. As governments in APAC build digital public infrastructure and national ID programs, and as consumer platforms scale passkeys across billions of accounts, the conference is likely to surface best practices around device binding, recovery, and coexistence with legacy IAM stacks that still need to support passwords and SMS in the short term.
