Indian identity verification and regulatory technology company IDfy has raised INR 476 crore, roughly $52 million, to expand its digital trust and regtech operations across identity verification, know-your-customer (KYC) workflows, and fraud and compliance infrastructure for regulated institutions.
According to reporting by The Economic Times, the round included participation from Neo Asset Management and existing investors. IDfy is expected to apply the capital to scale services used by financial institutions and other regulated sectors that need to onboard customers digitally while managing fraud and compliance risk.
The fundraise follows IDfy’s SOC 2 Type II certification in March 2025, a security and controls milestone that is increasingly expected by enterprise buyers evaluating identity platforms that process sensitive personal data at scale.
IDfy is operating in a market where digital KYC has become part of national infrastructure. India’s Aadhaar-based identity ecosystem has pushed verification and onboarding into app and API-driven flows, and the company is among a growing set of vendors building layers on top of those rails for banks, fintechs, and large digital platforms. India Post, for example, launched Aadhaar-based digital KYC for savings accounts in January 2025, reflecting how verification is becoming embedded in mainstream service delivery.
Momentum in the sector has also been visible in fundraising and competitive activity. Equal raised a $10 million Series A in November 2024 at an $80 million valuation, and international providers have been introducing Aadhaar-integrated verification offerings aimed at serving India’s volume-heavy onboarding needs.
IDfy offers a mix of identity verification, background screening, and compliance services. Its capabilities include document verification, video KYC, biometric authentication, and fraud detection, used by clients across banking and financial services as well as sectors such as ride-sharing and e-commerce where platform integrity depends on reliable identity and compliance checks.
