Solana Mobile has begun shipping its second-generation Web3 smartphone, the Seeker, marking a significant expansion of blockchain-integrated mobile devices. The launch on August 4, 2025, follows strong pre-order demand with over 150,000 units reserved globally, substantially exceeding the 20,000 first-generation Saga phones sold in 2024.
The Seeker phone, now shipping to customers in more than 50 countries at a retail price between $450-500, is projected to generate at least $67.5 million in gross revenue for Solana Labs’ mobile division. The device integrates deeply with the Solana blockchain ecosystem through several key features, building upon the foundation established by its predecessor while incorporating enhanced security measures.
Central to the Seeker’s architecture is TEEPIN’s three-layer security system, incorporating hardware encryption, decentralized identity, and Solana network support. The device features a hardware-isolated Seed Vault that stores private keys and recovery phrases separately from the application layer, enabling secure blockchain interactions while protecting sensitive cryptocurrency credentials – a critical advancement in mobile blockchain security.
The phone’s ecosystem introduces the SKR token, designed to serve multiple functions including developer incentivization, user engagement rewards, decentralized governance, and transaction facilitation within the phone’s Web3 environment. The token system aims to cultivate an active developer community and user base, following the growing trend of blockchain-based mobile platforms integrating native cryptocurrencies.
Unlike traditional mobile platforms, the Seeker offers a Web3-native wallet, decentralized app store, and cryptocurrency payment support. The infrastructure reduces dependence on centralized technology platforms and their associated fee structures while promoting user control over digital assets and applications, addressing key concerns about digital sovereignty that have emerged in recent years.
“Built from the ground up to integrate blockchain features natively – designed especially for access to decentralized apps and crypto security,” said Anatoli Yakovenko, Co-Founder of Solana Labs.
The device targets both blockchain developers and cryptocurrency enthusiasts, representing a significant evolution in mobile Web3 technology. Developers can distribute decentralized applications without traditional platform intermediaries, while users gain direct mobile access to NFTs, DeFi applications, and blockchain gaming experiences. The approach matches broader industry movements toward decentralized identity systems and blockchain-based mobile services.
