World and Mythical Games have announced a strategic partnership to embed proof-of-human technology into mobile and online gaming platforms, aiming to preserve competitive integrity and secure in-game economies as AI-driven automation increasingly affects player experiences.
The collaboration will integrate World ID verification across Mythical Games’ portfolio, which includes popular titles such as NFL Rivals, FIFA Rivals, and Pudgy Party. The identity verification system is designed to confirm that players are authentic humans rather than automated bots, addressing long-standing problems with leaderboard manipulation, tournament fraud, and in-game asset authenticity.
As part of the partnership, Mythical will launch Mythos Chain, a new Layer 3 blockchain built atop World Chain’s Layer 2 infrastructure. This makes Mythos Chain the first L3 network within the World ecosystem, combining Ethereum’s security model with the cost efficiency and transaction speed advantages of layered blockchain architecture. World Chain prioritizes network capacity for verified humans, preventing bot networks from congesting the system or artificially inflating transaction costs.
“Mythical is teaming up with World to bring proof of human and trust into the next era of gaming,” said John Linden, CEO of Mythical Games. “Our goal is to make every player (whether in FIFA Rivals, Pudgy Party, or NFL Rivals) part of a verified global economy where digital ownership and fair play are guaranteed.”
Ajay Patel, Head of World ID at Tools for Humanity, emphasized the growing necessity for human verification as AI systems become more sophisticated in gaming contexts. “Proof of human restores trust to that equation,” Patel said. “By integrating it into Mythical’s ecosystem, we’re giving millions of gamers the ability to prove they’re real and ensuring that ownership, creativity, and competition all remain human.”
World Chain, secured by Ethereum, enables developers to build decentralized applications that prioritize authenticated human participation. With Mythical’s established player base and digital asset marketplace infrastructure, the World ID integration extends these principles into one of blockchain gaming’s largest ecosystems. The companies indicated that verified accounts will be able to move seamlessly across titles and marketplaces while maintaining persistent ownership of digital assets.
The initiative targets a fundamental challenge in competitive gaming: bot activity that distorts in-game economies and undermines competitive fairness. The companies frame their joint infrastructure as a scalable solution integrated directly into blockchain architecture, eliminating reliance on external bot-detection systems that often lag behind evolving bot sophistication.
The partnership follows increasing deployment of AI-powered automation in multiplayer gaming, which researchers say has amplified challenges around fraud, matchmaking integrity, and resource inflation. World and Mythical position their combined infrastructure as addressing these problems at the protocol level.
World, which rebranded from Worldcoin earlier this year, has been expanding its proof-of-humanity platform globally through iris-scanning verification technology, though it has encountered regulatory scrutiny in several markets regarding biometric data privacy practices. The company recently launched its compact Orb Mini device to expand verification accessibility.
