The GSMA and NetLync have introduced GSMA Entitlements, a cloud-based platform that modernizes how mobile operators activate and manage device features. Building on the GSMA’s extensive work in eSIM standardization and security, the platform supports both iOS and Android devices, enabling rapid deployment of advanced services including eSIM Transfer, Satellite messaging, Cross RCS, 5G data management, VoWiFi, and companion device activation.
Traditional entitlement server integration has typically required months of custom development work for operators, with processes needing repetition whenever device manufacturers introduce new features or specifications. The challenge has become particularly pressing with the rise of SIM-related security threats and the increasing complexity of mobile authentication systems. GSMA Entitlements addresses these challenges by providing a pre-configured infrastructure that meets manufacturer requirements, significantly reducing integration complexity and deployment time.
“GSMA Entitlements marks a major step forward in simplifying mobile feature activation,” said Sianne Ryder, General Manager of GSMA Services. “As connectivity evolves, operators need solutions that are fast, secure, and device manufacturer-compliant by default. Our platform removes the integration burden, shortens deployment times, and helps operators of all sizes deliver seamless experiences across devices and operating systems.”
The platform’s security features complement recent industry developments, including support for enhanced RCS security protocols and robust authentication mechanisms for VoWiFi services. The comprehensive security approach comes at a crucial time when mobile operators are expanding their digital service offerings while facing increasingly sophisticated security threats.
NetLync, headquartered in Dublin with additional offices in London and Vancouver, is leading the technical development and implementation of the platform. The company’s team of telecom specialists works directly with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to deliver Entitlement-as-a-Service, enabling operators to activate enhanced cellular features efficiently and cost-effectively.
The platform’s key features include cloud-based scalability for device feature activation and management, comprehensive support for next-generation features, built-in manufacturer compliance, reduced integration requirements, and a service-based model that eliminates the need for operators to maintain separate entitlement infrastructure. The features support the industry’s broader move toward standardized authentication protocols and simplified digital service deployment.
