The University of Virginia (UVA) has implemented a new smartphone-based system that enables students, faculty, and staff to replace their physical academic ID cards with a digital credential stored in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The mobile credential system operates on an opt-in basis, giving new students the choice between traditional physical ID cards and the digital alternative.
